The Islamic Tourism Month (ITM) 2025 wrapped up on a positive note, celebrating Malaysia’s rich culture, heritage, and warm hospitality. Organised by the Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC), the month-long online event went beyond festivities; it was a showcase of Malaysia’s diversity and the inclusive spirit that brings people together through tourism.
Throughout ITM 2025, Malaysia welcomed visitors to discover its unique Muslim-friendly travel experiences. ITC highlighted the country’s wide range of Islamic Tourism and Muslim-Friendly Tourism and Hospitality (MFTH) offerings, inviting both local and international travellers to explore them. For industry players, it was also an excellent opportunity to present their products and services to the growing Muslim travel market.
OBJECTIVES
- To introduce and reintroduce Malaysia as a Muslim-friendly destination with its Muslim-friendly products and services for the public to explore.
- To provide a platform for industry players in the tourism industry and the halal ecosystem to showcase their Muslim-friendly innovations and offerings.
- To generate income towards economic recovery through numerous Islamic tourism-related activities.

ITM TIKTOK CHALLENGE 2025
The Islamic Tourism Month TikTok Challenge is a digital initiative that invites the public to creatively showcase Muslim-friendly tourism experiences across Malaysia through engaging and informative TikTok content.

ITM HISTORY
2022 – Islamic Tourism Week
Launched as the first Islamic Tourism Week from 20 June to 3 July 2022, the event featured 40 strategic partners, laying the groundwork for future editions.
2023 – Islamic Tourism Month
Expanded into Islamic Tourism Month (ITM) from 21 August to 30 September 2023, drawing 130 strategic partners and generating RM2.3 million in sales revenue.
2024 – Continued Growth
Held from 16 August to 30 September 2024, ITM grew to 150 strategic partners, achieving RM2.5 million in sales revenue, further strengthening Malaysia’s Muslim-friendly tourism profile.
2025 – Target Reached
For ITM 2025, ITC attracted 170 strategic partners and targets RM2.7 million in sales revenue, continuing its upward momentum. Through its TikTok Challenge campaign, ITC managed to reach 1.8 million views.
