The 2024 edition of HIITS showcased Indonesia’s vision for advancing the halal economy
ORGANISED by PT. Wahyu Promo Citra, the Halal Indonesia International Trade Show (HIITS) 2024, successfully concluded its three-day run at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City.
Held from Dec 6 to 8, the event showcased a diverse range of halal products and services across various sectors, from food and beverage (F&B) to cosmetics, fashion, tourism, and finance. With some vendors offering special promotions, HIITS drew a large crowd.

The event was supported by prominent sponsors such as Wardah, Kahn, and Biodef. Each sponsor played a crucial role in ensuring the success of the event. HIITS 2024 also received support from government agencies, including the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, Halal Indonesia, The Halal Product Assurance Organising Agency (BPJPH), and Wonderful Indonesia.

This year, HIITS presented a series of special programmes aimed at engaging attendees across diverse age groups and interests:

Halal Culinary Festival: This segment showcased innovative halal food creations, featuring collaborations with renowned chefs. Highlights included a healthy Ramadan Iftar menu and unique dishes like Raspberry Kecombrang Sorbet. Additionally, the segment offered educational sessions on halal certification and building a successful business.
The three-day event also featured a lineup of inspiring Islamic talks and workshops. These sessions covered a wide range of topics, from personal development and spiritual growth to navigating life challenges and strengthening family relations.
Attendees also had the opportunity to gain insights into the Indonesian market outlook for 2025, explore strategies for achieving women’s fitness goals, and more. HIITS AS A B2B HUB
The highlight of the event was the HIITS Corner, a dedicated space to facilitate business-to-business (B2B) activities. Industry stakeholders gathered to engage in insightful panel discussions led by international speakers with expertise in various halal industry sectors.
The panel sessions explored a variety of key topics, with a particular focus on international expansion. One of the main discussions highlighted the opportunities for Indonesian entrepreneurs in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, specifically Egypt.
Besides that, the panels addressed the importance of halal certification and strategies to overcome trade barriers, given the challenges businesses face in meeting the stringent halal certification requirements necessary for international trade. Another key topic was focused on the potential for Indonesian halal businesses to tap into the Australian market.
In addition to panel discussions, the HIITS Corner hosted a business matching session, facilitating direct interactions between representatives from Egypt, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The platform enabled businesses to discuss export potentials and explore partnerships that could strengthen their foothold in both regional and global markets.
HIITS 2024 placed a strong emphasis on fostering a collaborative environment throughout the event. The dedicated time slot for afternoon tea served as a space for participants to exchange ideas and network.
As the global halal economy continues to grow, events like HIITS are pivotal in shaping its future. By providing a platform for knowledge sharing, business discussions, and networking, HIITS contributes to the ongoing expansion of the halal market.
With HIITS, businesses can stay informed about industry trends, build connections, and explore new business avenues, ensuring that the halal industry remains dynamic and resilient on the global stage.
